Back to school

So it's that time of year again! Time to send the kids back to school, and for some, you must send your teens off to college.  It's a time when emotions run high and people are running around shopping, and stressing about getting ready for the big day.

So what are you doing to get ready? We suggest going through your kids closet and looking for clothes that were not worn much throughout the year and use those clothes as a reference point to what you should buy for them this coming year.  This will save you money by not having to buy an entire wardrobe, which of course, will end up being super expensive and much of it going to waste.

Remember also, that clothes that your children wore gently can be donated at a near by donation box or the Salvation Army.  When you donate, instead of having a garage sale, you actually get more money back from the IRS than you would from sitting out in your front driveway all day on a perfectly good Saturday.  Just make sure you get a receipt for your donations.

School supplies are a huge expense every year.  Things such as a pencil bag can cost you in the neighborhood of a dollar to ten dollars depending on how fashionable or trendy it is.  Now ask yourself the following question.  How long did my child use his/her pencil bag before it disappeared? A day? Maybe a week? By the way, where do all the pencil bags go? Do they run away with the socks? Who knows. Cut that expense.

Buy a pack of pencils, and issue out two at a time.  Giving an entire pack to your child can have you buying pencils again in a couple of weeks when those two have mysteriously disappeared.  Folders can be expensive if you buy designer folders with puppies and kittens or the goodness forbid... Justin Beiber.  Did I spell that right? Oh, well... We all know that folders end up being written on with markers, pens and crayons.  Your kid won't even care that Justin Beiber is on the cover a week later.  Sure, they'll complain initially, but they get over it.  If you must make them happy, one Justin, kitten or puppy folder should suffice.  The rest can be multicolored and will last just as long as the designer one, which will end up with your kids designs on them anyway.

I know this post is not about candles, but our kids are going back to school in about a week or so, and I just wanted to give you guys a few pointers on what we plan on doing this year.  Okay, maybe a little bit about candles.  Come by our new website TrueWickless.com. We just got approved for it a few days ago.  We would love it if you bought a few items.  Thank you so much!!!
